The Career Foundation is currently seeking a Structural Aircraft Assembler I on behalf of our Employer Partner.

Job Title: Structural Aircraft Assembler I
Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday. Must be able to work shifts to accommodate production schedule including days, afternoons, evenings, and overtime as required. The first shift starts at 5:00 a.m. and the last shift ends at 11:30 p.m.

Salary: $20.40 per hour | $22.67 per hour at the end of the 8-week training program

Summary:

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Structural Aircraft Assembler I will be trained on the installation and assembly of components on an aircraft structure through an eight-week in-house training school program. Following successful completion of the training program, the employee will progress to a Structural Assembler I position where they will apply their acquired skills on the production floor.

Scope of Position:

- Blueprint reading and hole layout; countersinking and deburring.
- Fit and installation of conventional rivets and Hi-Lite fasteners.
- Assembly and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies, working at benches or directly on an aircraft structure.
- Application of manual solvent, conductive chemical conversion treatment, and paint touch-ups.
- Work with a variety of power and hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and other equipment.
- Work with cross-functional teams to meet schedule and production requirements.
- Adhere to all Health and Safety regulations and procedures.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Must be able to wear provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times on the plant floor (i.e., safety glasses,



safety shoes, and ear plugs) and follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Fit Test (PFT) for proper fitting of respirators as needed to perform the job safely, especially in work areas that may have exposure to chemicals or odors from paints, solvents, etc. To ensure proper fitting of respirators, all employees using respirators must be clean-shaven at all times as per Canadian Standards Association (CSA) requirements.
- Must be willing and able to:
- Work in restricted spaces (tanks).
- Work at heights above 3 meters.
- Bend, twist, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb stairs repeatedly during shift.
- Perform heavy lifting (up to 40 lbs) as needed.
- Stand for long periods over a 10-hour shift.
- Must be comfortable working with air and power tools.
- Strong team player, flexible, and willing to learn new tasks.

Experience:

- No industry experience required; recent graduates from aviation programs are encouraged to apply.
- Previous experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment is an asset.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication Course or similar education is an asset.
- The employer will conduct a criminal background check.
