Job Title: Accounting Specialist

Reports To: General Manager

Salary Range: CA$65,000–CA$75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

Summary:

Lakeside Farm Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accounting Specialist to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function for our farm and distribution operations.

The position will be primarily based in Niagara-on-the-Lake while also supporting our distribution business in Markham (Toronto). Travel to Markham may be required approximately once per week.

Fluency in both Mandarin and English is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage full-cycle accounting, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Maintain the general ledger and complete bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and complete month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports.
- Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies.
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns and other required government filings.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Maintain accurate financial records and support internal controls.
- Work closely with farm, warehouse, distribution, and management teams




- Support accounting activities for both Niagara-on-the-Lake and Markham operations.

Qualifications

- Fluent in Mandarin and English – required.
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience with financial reporting and GST/HST filings.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to travel to Markham/Toronto approximately once per week as needed.

Preferred

- Experience in agriculture, food production, warehousing, or distribution.
- Experience with inventory accounting and ERP systems.
- Accounting diploma or degree; CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
