L-M Equipment

Canada

L-M Equipment is a Canadian-owned and operated manufacturer of industrial machinery located in Surrey, BC. We design, manufacture, and support specialized equipment used throughout the lumber, building materials, and manufacturing industries across Canada and the United States.

We are looking for a Parts Sales & Inventory Coordinator to take ownership of our parts department.

This is a hands-on position combining parts sales, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and purchasing support. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, stays organized, and wants to make the parts department their own.

The right person will become the go-to person for replacement parts at L-M - helping customers identify what they need, processing orders, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, and ensuring parts are received, stocked, recorded and shipped accurately.

Key ResponsibilitiesParts Sales & Customer Support

- Respond to customer parts inquiries by phone and email
- Identify replacement parts using equipment models, serial numbers, drawings, photos and customer descriptions
- Prepare parts quotations and process customer orders
- Enter and manage sales orders in our ERP system
- Provide customers with pricing, availability and estimated lead times
- Recommend related or commonly replaced components where appropriate
- Follow up on backorders and outstanding customer requirements
- Develop a robust working knowledge of L-M equipment and commonly used replacement parts

Inventory Management

- Take ownership of inventory accuracy and organization
- Monitor inventory levels and identify items requiring replenishment
- Establish and maintain appropriate minimum/maximum stocking levels
- Perform regular cycle counts and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain organized and clearly labelled inventory locations

- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in our ERP system
- Identify obsolete, slow-moving and excess inventory
- Work with Sales, Purchasing and Production to anticipate upcoming parts requirements

Shipping & Receiving

- Pick, pack and ship customer parts orders
- Coordinate courier, LTL and other freight shipments
- Prepare shipping documentation, bills of lading and labels
- Receive incoming materials and parts
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing slips
- Identify shortages, damage or discrepancies
- Receive inventory into the ERP system and place material into the correct inventory location
- Maintain an organized shipping, receiving and parts area

Purchasing Support

- Monitor stock levels and recommend replenishment purchases
- Assist with purchase orders for commonly stocked items
- Follow up with suppliers regarding availability and outstanding orders
- Monitor supplier lead times and help prevent critical stockouts
- Work toward maintaining the right inventory levels without unnecessarily overstocking

What We're Looking For

- Previous experience in parts, inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehousing, purchasing or a similar role
- Experience in an automotive, heavy equipment, industrial machinery, manufacturing or dealership parts environment is a strong asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working with part numbers, technical information and mechanical components

- Strong computer skills; previous ERP or inventory management system experience is preferred
- Experience with SYSPRO is an asset but not required
- Comfortable communicating directly with customers and suppliers
- Able to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
- Mechanically inclined or interested in learning industrial equipment
- Able to safely lift and handle parts and packages as required

The Person We're Looking For:

We're not looking for someone who simply waits to be told what needs to be shipped.

We're looking for someone who wants to own the parts department.

You should be the type of person who notices we're running low on an important component before we run out, investigates when inventory doesn't match the system, follows up on overdue parts without being asked, and makes sure customers get the correct parts quickly.

Over time, we want this person to know our equipment and parts inventory well enough to become the first call when a customer needs replacement parts.

What We Offer:

- Full-time, permanent employment
- Monday–Friday schedule
- Extended health and dental benefits
- Stable, long-established Canadian manufacturing company
- Opportunity to take real ownership of a department
- Hands-on exposure to industrial machinery and manufacturing
- Opportunity to develop extensive product and technical knowledge

Location: Surrey, BC
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

If you have experience running a parts counter, managing inventory, shipping and receiving, or supporting an industrial parts department - and you're looking for a position where you can take ownership rather than simply follow a task list - we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week

Benefits:

- Casual dress
- Dental care
- On-site parking

Work Location: In person
