MCG Careers has provided services to unemployed Albertans since 1989. We utilize current career development techniques to assist individuals with successful employment preparation, job placement, training on the job, workshops, and skill training programs.
MCG Careers is currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our E6 Initiative team in Calgary Downtown as Career Coach/Job Coach.

What You’ll Bring:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field; CCDP designation preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience delivering client-centered services, including assessments, individualized employment planning, coaching, and case management.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges or other barriers to employment.
- Strong knowledge and application of adult learning principles, career development theories, client-focused coaching, and holistic case management.
- Able to navigate online job boards, conduct online labour market research, use email, word processing and database software (Microsoft and Google Workspace)
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills, with exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, networking, and relationship-building abilities
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify barriers, strengths, experience, and available resources to support individualized employment plans.
- Deliver tailored employment development activities and coaching based on each client’s unique needs.
- Maintain accurate client records, both physical and electronic, and ensure timely updates in all required databases.
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill all program and contractual requirements.
- Participate in weekly case management meetings to review and manage client progress.
- Conduct outreach to potential employers via cold calls, emails,
and in-person visits to meet job placement targets.
- Motivate clients to actively seek employment and support them in achieving their career goals.
About the E6 Initiative:
The E6 Initiative (Engage-Encourage-Educate-Empower-Employ-Enrich) is an innovative service that empowers individuals with mental health disabilities to engage in the labour market. Participants work closely with a dedicated job coach to develop mental health management strategies, build essential employment skills, and receive personalized job search coaching. The E6 Initiative also supports employers in inclusive hiring practices.
