About Tero Power

Tero Power is a solar construction contractor based in Toronto. We build solar on commercial and industrial rooftops and we build ground-mount solar across Ontario: racking, modules, DC and AC electrical to the point of interconnection, commissioning and handover. We are a licensed electrical contractor (ECRA/ESA) and a registered apprenticeship sponsor with Skilled Trades Ontario.

We have a steady pipeline of Ontario work ahead of us, rooftop new builds and repowers.

The role

You're the licensed electrician on site. You run the DC and AC scope on megawatt-scale rooftop and ground-mount solar builds, work to stamped drawings under our Designated Master Electrician, and you supervise and sign off apprentices.

This is a solar job, and we're looking for electricians who have already done it. If you've strung arrays, landed combiners and commissioned inverters on commercial systems, you'll be productive here in your first week.

What you'll do

- Terminate and land DC: string wiring and connectors, combiner boxes, grounding and bonding, cable tray, conduit and cable management
- Install and terminate inverters, AC combiners, disconnects, panel boards and feeders through to the point of interconnection
- Work from single-line diagrams, stamped drawings and manufacturer instructions, and flag the gap when the roof doesn't match the drawing
- Test and troubleshoot: polarity, Voc and Isc checks, insulation resistance, string commissioning and fault finding
- Get the job ready for ESA inspection and support commissioning, utility witness and energization
- Run the electrical scope on repowering projects:



safe isolation and removal of existing arrays, then the current build
- Run lockout and tagout, arc flash and PPE practice, and stop work when something isn't safe
- Supervise and mentor registered apprentices, and sign off their logbook hours against the 309A training standard
- Keep daily records: photos, progress reports and the labour records the Clean Technology ITC requires

What you need

- A valid 309A Certificate of Qualification (Electrician, Construction and Maintenance) in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario
- Solar experience. At least one full season on solar installations, with the electrical scope in your hands. Commercial, industrial and ground mount is what we want most
- Working knowledge of PV electrical work: string layout and stringing, MC4 and equivalent connectors, combiners, grounding and bonding, inverter terminations, and commissioning
- At least three years of field experience after your ticket
- Working at Heights (CPO-approved) and WHMIS 2015, current or obtained before your start date
- Your own hand tools and a valid Ontario G licence
- Willingness to travel to sites across Ontario, including overnight stays during the week. We provide a travel per diem
- Able to lift 50 lb repeatedly, work from ladders and lifts, and work outdoors year-round
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Enough English to read drawings and give safety direction on site

Assets, not required





- Ground-mount and solar farm experience: piles, torque tubes, tracker systems, combiner and recombiner work
- Repowering and FIT-era system experience
- Commissioning experience on central inverters, or on multiple string inverter platforms
- Medium voltage, transformer, metering or CT work
- Master Electrician licence
- Scissor lift, boom lift, telehandler, forklift or skid steer certifications
- Standard First Aid and CPR, Confined Space, or Fall Rescue
- Experience supervising apprentices or running a small electrical crew

Job details

- Job type: Full-time, permanent employee. Not a subcontract position.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays when a project schedule requires it. Overtime at 1.5x after 44 hours a week.
- Location: Toronto and GTA base, with work at project sites across Ontario. Travel per diem provided for work outside the GTA.
- Tools and PPE: Hard hats, vests and specialty tools provided.
- NOC: 72200, Electricians (except industrial and power system)
- Before your first day: satisfactory criminal record check, two professional references, valid Working at Heights (CPO-approved) and WHMIS 2015, and proof that you're entitled to work in Canada.
