Thornhill Child Care Society (TCCS) is seeking certified Substitute Kindergarten Teachers to provide occasional classroom coverage at two of our Calgary locations.

This is a flexible opportunity for new graduates, retired teachers, or certified teachers looking for casual work in a supportive, inclusive early learning environment.

Position Details

- Wage: $45.00 per hour
- North Calgary: 3-hour shifts
- Haysboro: 6-hour shifts
- Employment: Casual / On-Call
- Locations: North (6617 Centre St N) and Haysboro (140 Haddon Rd SW)

You can provide your availability and accept substitute shifts that work for your schedule.

What You’ll Do

- Follow the regular teacher’s classroom plans, routines, and schedule
- Provide engaging, developmentally appropriate Kindergarten learning experiences
- Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom
- Work collaboratively with Educational Assistants and classroom staff
- Support children with diverse learning, communication, and self-regulation needs
- Follow TCCS policies and Alberta Education ECS expectations

Qualifications

Required:

- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (Interim or Permanent)
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain

Experience with Kindergarten, inclusive education, play-based learning, FLIGHT, structured literacy/UFLI, or supporting children with diverse learning needs is an asset.
