Job Summary
We are seeking motivated Owner Operator Truck Drivers to join our team and deliver freight efficiently and safely across provincial routes. This role offers the opportunity to operate heavy-duty trucks, including flat deck and van loads, with a focus on highway driving from British Columbia to Alberta. Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including flat deck and van loads, along designated highway routes from BC to AB.
- Secure freight properly using industry-standard techniques to ensure safe transport during transit.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, checking for mechanical issues and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage freight loading and unloading, utilizing forklift operation when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo details in accordance with transportation regulations.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route changes, or vehicle concerns.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license with a clean abstract demonstrating safe driving history.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially on highway routes between BC and AB.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts for freight handling when required.
- Knowledge of securing flat deck loads and freight safety procedures.
- Familiarity with automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor mechanical issues.
- Solid understanding of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to safety and maintenance.
