About the Role

We are hiring full-time and casual Disability Service Workers (DSWs) in Brooks. In this role, you will support adults with physical, developmental, and complex mental health needs to thrive in their homes and communities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication, and daily living tasks
- Provide hands-on care for varied needs, including mobility transfers, medical care, and thoughtful support during high-stress or aggressive behaviours
- Keep living spaces clean, safe, and organized
- Encourage self-advocacy, choice,



and active community involvement based on each person's unique goals and preferences

What You Bring

You are compassionate, reliable, and passionate about helping others build independence. You possess strong problem-solving skills, stay calm under pressure, and adjust your communication style to meet each person's needs while maintaining supportive, professional boundaries.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Level C First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (or acceptable to the Executive Director)
- Basic computer skills for daily reporting
- Explicit written and spoken communication skills
- A belief that people of all abilities have the right to direct their own lives and fully participate in their community

Pay: From $18.75 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 per week
