POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the Cafe Manager, the Café Food Coordinator will be responsible for food service for the
café. This position will be responsible for providing creative input on the menu and items, preparation and service of
food, baking for the cafe, ensuring that the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and equipment are
complete, and working with the Cafe manager to support catering and efficient food service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Creative input on menu, as well as prep and service of food.
- Working with the Cafe Manager on catering planning, prep, and service
- Baking for the cafe as well as directing baker on additional cafe baking when needed
- Preparing items for grab and go
- Prepping, submitting, and putting away food orders, as well as communicating with food suppliers when needed.
- Maintain highest standards of SHA Food Safe regulations
- Keeping a clean and well-organized kitchen
- Maintain a high quality of food and customer service.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Education
- High school diploma;
Experience
- Experience working in a commercial kitchen;
- Food service and safe food handling experience
- Experience with food orders and leading a team
- Experience with food cost analysis and budgeting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Self-directed, demonstrated ability to work effectively without direct supervision or guidance;
- Must be able to provide a criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check;
- Good communication and organizational abilities;
- Demonstrated crisis intervention skills;
- Cultural awareness, and respect for women and children of various backgrounds;
- Current Food Safe Certificate
- Class 5 driver’s license; and
- Valid First Aid/CPR certification
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Work Location: Onsite at 2817 12th Avenue, Regina SK S4T 4Y9.
- Physical Demands: Typical work setting with standard physical requirements, including extended periods of
standing to support Café activities. Some lifting or walking for extended period of time may be required.
- Schedule: 37.5 hours per week (8am - 4pm with a half hour unpaid break, Monday to Friday)
- Pre-Employment: A criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check where applicable, may be required
following a conditional offer of employment. Results will be assessed in relation to the duties of the role and will not
automatically disqualify candidates.
