Position Summary

Precision Gradall Ltd. is seeking an experienced Foreman / Supervisor to lead field crews and oversee civil earthworks operations throughout Alberta.

The Foreman / Supervisor is responsible for coordinating day-to-day field activities, directing employees and equipment operators, maintaining a protected and productive work environment, and ensuring work is completed to company and client standards.

This position is ideal for an experienced construction professional who can lead from the front, understands heavy equipment and civil earthworks, and takes pride in getting the job done safely, efficiently, and correctly.

Key Responsibilities

Field Operations & Supervision

- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of operators, labourers, truck drivers, and subcontractors.
- Plan and organize daily work based on project requirements, drawings, site conditions, and client direction.
- Assign employees and equipment to tasks to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Monitor production and ensure work is completed according to schedule.
- Identify potential issues or delays and communicate them to Project Management.
- Ensure equipment, materials, tools, and crews are available and ready for daily operations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and qualified worksite.

Crew Leadership

- Provide clear direction and leadership to field employees.
- Lead by example and promote a strong work ethic, accountability, and teamwork.
- Train and mentor junior employees and help develop future lead hands and operators.
- Address performance, attendance, and workplace issues as they arise.
- Maintain positive working relationships with employees, clients, subcontractors, and other contractors on site.

Safety & Compliance

- Promote and enforce Precision Gradall's safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct and participate in daily toolbox meetings, FLHAs/JHAs, hazard assessments, and site orientations.
- Identify hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented before work begins.
- Ensure employees are properly trained, qualified, and equipped for their assigned tasks.
- Report incidents, near misses, hazards, equipment damage, and other safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain a strong safety culture where employees are expected to speak up and look out for one another.

Equipment & Production

- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of Gradall excavators, excavators, skid steers, loaders, trucks, hydrovacs, and other construction equipment.




- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or repair requirements.
- Coordinate equipment movements, mobilizations, and demobilizations.
- Ensure equipment is being used appropriately and productively.
- Assist operators and labourers with troubleshooting and field-related challenges.
- Have the ability to operate equipment when required and when qualified.

Quality Control

- Ensure work is completed accurately and according to project specifications and client expectations.
- Review grades, elevations, excavation limits, slopes, and other project requirements as applicable.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective work is completed.
- Maintain accurate daily records, including production, manpower, equipment, materials, and site activities.

Communication & Reporting

- Communicate regularly with Project Managers, Superintendents, clients, and other site representatives.
- Provide daily updates regarding project progress, manpower, equipment, production, and issues.
- Complete required timesheets, equipment reports, daily logs, safety documentation, and other project paperwork.
- Communicate changes in scope or site conditions promptly.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients and represent Precision Gradall in a positive manner.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in civil construction, earthworks, industrial construction, pipeline, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a Foreman, Lead Hand, Supervisor, or equivalent leadership position.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment and civil earthworks.
- Experience working around utilities, pipelines, industrial facilities, or other high-risk work environments is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings, plans, specifications, and site instructions.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and competently is considered an asset.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.




- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Must be willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel to different job sites as required.

- Primarily field-based construction work.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, and working around heavy equipment.
- Work may involve early mornings, extended shifts, weekends, and overtime depending on project requirements.
- Travel throughout Alberta may be required.
- Work may take place in industrial, commercial, residential, pipeline, environmental, and other construction environments.

Pay: $38.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 80.0 per week
