Our client is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join a team-oriented finance team in Calgary , Alberta, within the Oil & Gas industry on a long-term contract basis. This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting multiple entities, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and month-end close activities.

Responsibilities:
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly bank and cash reconciliations across multiple entities.
Record and monitor daily cash activity and maintain accurate cash reporting.
Prepare and process intercompany invoices and follow up on outstanding differences.
Maintain prepaid and amortization schedules and post related entries.
Calculate and record monthly accruals and journal entries.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
Support month-end close by preparing entries and organizing supporting documentation.
Assist with fixed asset and lease accounting activities as required.
Prepare account reconciliations and supporting information in OneStream for consolidation and reporting.
Support ad hoc accounting tasks and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
3–5 years of accounting experience in a similar intermediate-level role, including month-end activities.
Experience with bank and account reconciliations, cash accounting, accruals, prepaids, and journal entries.
Experience working across multiple entities, including intercompany and multi-currency transactions.
Proficiency with ERP systems and OneStream or a similar consolidation platform.
Intermediate to strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions.




Strong communication skills with a collaborative working style.
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate discrepancies.
Postsecondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred; an accounting designation is not required.
