The Canadian Societyfor the Study of Education (CSSE) invites applications for an Administrative & Financial Services Manager that is responsible for providing administrative support to a variety of educational research associations, with a preferred starting date of October 1, 2026, or earlier.
The ideal candidatewill have a proven record of administrative and financial service, with the capacity to contribute as part of an interdisciplinary, pan-Canadian team of faculty, graduate students, and staff. The Administrative & Financial Services Manager reports to the Board of Directors, works closely with the Executive Director, and is a front-facing service provider to CSSE’s community.
This is a permanent, full-time position. Work must be completed primarily in the Ottawa office. The position is slated to earn $51,000 per annum.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in a variety of mediums
- High level attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Solid knowledge of finance and financial services, including budgeting,
cash flow management, and financial risk awareness.
- Proficiency in accounting practices, general ledger maintenance, and preparation of accurate financial statements.
- Proven capacity to maintain an administrative office and perform all general functions
- Strong time management skills and the ability to set priorities
- Solid collaborative capabilities
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, demonstrating initiative and researching solutions
- Robust technological skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, database management, and web content
The following will be considered assets:
- A bachelor’s degree, equivalent, and/or other relevant certification in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field
- Experience working in a not-for-profit, charity, or other small organization
- Knowledge of CSSE’s structure and mission, including diverse perspectives on education and research
- French/English bilingualism wouldbe considered a significant asset.
