The WestJet Cargo Pricing Analyst leads and executes both long-term and short-term pricing strategies for WestJet Cargo products by analyzing market information and operating costs. The analyst should possess strong numerical and communication skills, along with an analytical mindset. You will work closely with Revenue Management, Operations & Sales to evaluate and prepare pricing proposals for cargo products.
Key deliverables include:
- Develop and maintain long-term and short-term pricing strategies based on market trends, demand patterns, capacity constraints, and cost structures
- Establish and continuously refine product pricing guidelines aligned with operational feasibility and competitive market positioning
- Prepare and evaluate pricing proposals , including promo rates, contract rates, published tariffs and spot rate quotations, for Sales and GSSA
- Assess demand sensitivity and optimize pricing decisions across routes and customer segments
- Perform competitor benchmarking to monitor market pricing movements and recommend tactical adjustments
- Develop and maintain other charges in coordination with Sales and Operations
- Collaborate with Revenue Management to align pricing decisions with capacity availability and yield optimization objectives
- Ensure clear governance and decision alignment between Pricing, Revenue Management, and Sales
- Review & support Trucking rate development and onboardingEstablishing interline sales, including rate review and negotiation
- Other pricing relevant duties assigned
Experience and qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in transportation (ideally in air freight), pricing experience preferred
- Must feel comfortable working in a dynamic, team-based environment where priorities are continually changing
- Highly organized and ability to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to work cross functionally and have expert prioritization skills
- Able to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision within specified time frames
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal partners and external customers through multiple means such as email and telephone
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- English and French language proficiency desired
- Spanish language proficiency would be an asset
