About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Android Engineer to join our dynamic mobile development team at Capital One Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the technical design, architecture, and development of cross-platform application systems. You will work closely with a talented team throughout the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring that our mobile applications are robust, scalable, and innovative.

This position requires a hands-on approach with advanced expertise in native Android development using Java and Kotlin, as well as experience in application architecture and data design. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, possess strong mentorship skills, and be committed to delivering high-quality solutions that enhance the customer experience.





Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess at least 6 years of hands-on experience in native Android application development using Java and Kotlin. You should have a strong background in application and data design, architecture, and full-cycle development. Proficiency with modern Android development tools and frameworks such as RxJava, Coroutines, Dagger, Espresso, Junit, and Jetpack Compose is essential.

Experience providing mentorship to junior and intermediate developers, as well as guiding technical and business stakeholders, is highly valued. A Bachelor's, Master's, or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS and familiarity with agile development methodologies will be advantageous.

- Collaborate within a dynamic mobile team throughout the entire software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and support.
- Enhance software engineering practices by working within agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement innovative technical solutions across various development tools and technologies.
- Provide expertise on how emerging technologies impact the domain, ensuring our solutions remain at the forefront of innovation.

and senior mobile developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
