Position: Business Analyst (Risk Management)

Duration: 6 months

Location: Toronto, ON

Work Model: Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)

About This Opportunity:

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of Risk Management systems, risk analytics platforms, and risk model initiatives.

This role will play a critical part in delivering business and technology solutions by facilitating the definition of requirements, documenting business needs, managing requirements traceability, and collaborating with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Development, QA, and Project Management teams. The successful candidate will possess strong business analysis expertise, deep knowledge of risk management concepts, and experience working within complex financial services environments.

What You'll Do:

- Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, objectives, and expected outcomes.
- Collaborate with business and solution teams to ensure delivered solutions align with business goals and deliver measurable value.
- Produce high-quality business analysis documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, workflows, and solution documentation.
- Assess, recommend, and facilitate the selection of viable functional solution alternatives.
- Document data flows and data transformations from enterprise systems to risk data repositories.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test strategy development, planning, test case review, and execution oversight.
- Partner with Product Owners, Solutions Engineering, QA, and business teams to validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements.
- Participate in project initiation and planning activities, including scope definition, objectives,



work breakdown structures (WBS), effort estimation, and business analysis approach development.
- Collaborate with Development and QA teams to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and appropriately tested.
- Support Agile delivery teams by developing user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the delivery organization.
- Identify, communicate, and appropriately escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies.

What You Bring:

- Minimum 6 years of experience in one or more of the following roles:
- Business Analyst
- Senior Business Analyst
- Business Systems Analyst (BSA)
- Business Consultant
- Risk Analyst
- Product Manager
- Product Owner
- Experience supporting financial instrument valuation, risk calculations, and risk management processes.
- Strong understanding of risk management concepts including:
- Liquidity Risk
- Market Risk
- Credit Risk
- Financial Modelling
- Monte Carlo Simulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of risk measurement methodologies, including:
- Value at Risk (VaR)
- Sensitivity Analysis
- Option Greeks
- Stress Testing
- Experience working with institutional investment products, including Exchange-Traded Products (ETPs), Derivatives, Private Investments, and Alternative Investments.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies.
- Ability to gather, document, analyze, and translate business requirements into functional solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple initiatives and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to improve analytics, productivity, and delivery outcomes.

- Engineering
- Related field
- Experience working in large-scale financial services or investment management environments.
