Engine OBD Calibration Engineer
Location: Windsor, ON - Onsite
Role Overview
We are looking for a Powertrain Engine OBD Calibration Engineer to support engine diagnostic calibration, verification, and validation activities.
The engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing calibration solutions, performing diagnostic verification testing, and managing technical aspects of OBD diagnostic calibrations to meet CARB regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement OBD diagnostic calibration solutions
- Perform diagnostic verification and validation testing
- Calibrate diagnostic thresholds to meet CARB requirements
- Identify system requirements during engine/system hardware development
- Support development of robust diagnostic systems
- Collect, analyze, and interpret vehicle/system data using standard instrumentation
- Prepare technical reports, test summaries, and timing projections
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
- Support system validation in hot-weather and altitude environments
Required Skills
- 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
- Strong knowledge of MATLAB
- Experience with Simulink / Stateflow
- Basic understanding of gasoline propulsion system hardware and operation
- Experience in engine calibration, diagnostics, controls, or powertrain development
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience
- Proficiency with ETAS INCA
- Engine OBD / diagnostic calibration
- CARB / emissions regulations
- Engine controls and diagnostics
- Diagnostic threshold calibration
- Vehicle testing and validation
- Data acquisition and instrumentation
- Hot-weather and altitude testing
- ECU/ECM calibration and validation
