Role Description The Carpenter role at Shakespeare Homes & Renovations Inc. is a full-time, on-site position based in Canada. The Carpenter will perform day-to-day tasks such as framing, installing structural components, and completing interior and exterior finish carpentry for renovations and current builds.
Responsibilities include reading and interpreting plans, measuring and cutting materials, assembling and installing fixtures, and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
The Carpenter will use a variety of hand and power tools, work closely with other trades, and maintain a clean, organized job site. This role requires reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship in a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
- Strong carpentry skills, including experience with residential construction and renovation work.
- Proficiency in framing, including layout, structural assembly, and installation of walls, floors, and roofs.
- Skilled in finish carpentry, such as trim work, doors, cabinetry, and fine detail installations.
- Confident use of hand tools and power tools, with a strong focus on safety and proper maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Relevant trade certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent on-the-job experience in carpentry.
- Solid understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and construction best practices.
- Reliable transportation to on-site locations in Canada and ability to work full-time hours.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
