YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. Position: Child Care Educator - Permanent Supply

Licensed Child Care - Supports all childcare locations in Sarnia, Corunna and Bright's Grove

Start Date: As soon as possible

Compensation: Non-Members – starting at $ 42,900 annually (includes government wage enhancements) Members of the College of Early Childhood Educators, Ontario – starting at $50,700 annually (includes government wage enhancements) As part of your total compensation:

Schedule:

- Monday through Friday (no weekends)
- works 37.5 hours per week, 7,5-hour shift daily with adaptable start and end times
- Shifts are scheduled in advance whenever possible
- Supports all Sarnia-Lambton YMCA of Southwestern Ontario childcare locations

In this role, you will:

- Plan and deliver a consistent child-centered program, in accordance with our YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum (0–6-year-olds)
- Provide quality compassionate care and support to children and their families
- Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures
- Be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging

Education &

Skills Qualifications

- Early Childhood Education graduate is preferred, but candidates holding a diploma or a degree in a related field of study will be considered.

- ECE graduates must be registered and in valuable standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Experience working with children 0-6 years in a work or school placement setting is required
- Graduates in a related field of study must be members of their associations as required
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months.

Training cost and time is at the expense of the applicant and not reimbursed

- Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age or older to obtain a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (less than 6 months old)
- Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health, Ministry of Education and YMCA SWO

- Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, and stooping
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle is required to support all the locations within this region which includes Sarnia, Corunna and Brights Grove

- Ability to work flexible shifts and are available for full hours of operation of the centers they support. Shifts may include open and closing shifts
