JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Excellence Manager, Specialty Nursing Services (SNS), reporting directly to the National Director, Quality, Risk, Patient Safety &

Experience and working closely with the Quality and Patient Safety Manager is responsible for providing clinical leadership and support to the Infusion Clinics across Canada. Leads and engages others to advance a culture of clinical excellence and a high-quality practice setting.

The Clinical Excellence

Manager, works closely with the SNS Clinical Teams, Operations Team, Business Development Team, and Patient Support Services to build capacity and competencies in evidence-based nursing and pharmacological practices, high-quality patient centered care & outcomes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Leads the development, implementation and optimization of evidenced based clinical & educational programs within the Specialty Nursing Services Network.
- Provides clinical leadership and service excellence to members of the SPNM and SPNS teams.
- Oversees and works closely with the Specialty Nursing Clinical Support Specialist to develop and implement program specific education, forms, and SOP development, for the Specialty Nursing Network.
- Responsible for the review and approval of BSRx Safe Drug Handling reviews, prior to sending to the National Director of Clinical Practice.
- Assesses existing Specialty Nursing clinical processes and practices and puts forth recommendations on enhancements.
- Works closely with the Senior Operations Manager,



Specialty Rx Nursing Services to ensure all clinical practices meet best practice standards and are implemented with the nursing team as appropriate.
- Assists with national and local Clinical Business Development opportunities & supports the development of related presentations.
- Actively follows clinical research trends regarding new treatments for key disease states in areas of oncology, rheumatology, rare disease, and MS.
- Works with BSRx Management, PSS Quality and Education manager, Pharmacists, and the Clinical, Quality, Health Information & Privacy (CQ-HIP) team to understand the process implications and products requirements in the context of patient care delivery.• Liaises with the CQHIP Clinical Practice Leader on a regular basis to keep up to date on any clinical initiatives being adjusted or implemented within the organization.
- Develops an understanding of scope of practice in nursing across Canada according to provincial and territorial regulatory bodies.
- Report and document Adverse Events as per Pharmacovigilance requirements and CQ

HIP incident management system.
- Completes other tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

- Graduated from an accredited nursing education program with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or equivalent.




- Current registration and in good standing with provincial nursing regulatory body.
- Masters in nursing or other related field preferred (completed or in progress).
- ACLS/BLS required, PALS Preferred.
- Chemotherapy – Biotherapy course completion.

Experience

- Previous nursing management or leadership experience.
- Experience or knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry in Canada.
- Prior work experience in Clinical Practice Support and education.
- Strong experience in developing education materials for professional adult learners
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
- Proven quality assurance and risk management expertise.
- Experience working with specialty pharma programs and a strong understanding of home health and specialty nursing services.
- Experience working with clinical teams to develop and implement patient and family centered models of care.
- Experience with and an understanding of interdisciplinary teams involved in the development, design and delivery of Patient Support Programs both in clinic and at home.

Other Skills and Abilities

- Strong and proven ability to communicate effectively with cross functional teams.
- Solid understanding of foundational nursing knowledge in acute and community health care.
- Robust leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize when faced with multiple challenges.
- Able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Visio.
