Become an Auxiliary Community Safety Team member with Squamish Nation in North Vancouver and Squamish Valley.
Your role will focus on supporting safety and well-being through active patrols. As a community safety member, you will ensure the well-being of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh communities by patrolling key areas and connecting individuals to necessary resources. This role requires robust observational skills and a commitment to community engagement and support. Key Responsibilities:
- Patrol and monitor local community sites and neighborhoods
- Observe and report security concerns like trespassing
- Connect community members with support services
- Aid in traffic control and community safety initiatives
- Assist during emergencies and community programs Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Training in first aid and de-escalation techniques preferred
- Solid communication and conflict management skills
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
- Knowledge of Skwxwú7mesh culture is an asset Work with purpose and help build a safer community through proactive engagement.
