THE OPPORTUNITY

- Develop and update accurate standard costing. Maintain and verify costing data by entering, reviewing, and analyzing historical information.
- Update raw material standards monthly with forecasted costs from purchasing.
- Ensure running speeds and staffing levels are accurate in recipes and process specifications.
- Review purchase price variances and material variances to ensure Standard Costs and Bills of Material are accurate.
- Develop cost estimates for recent products, restages, and cost‑savings initiatives.
- Partner with Purchasing, R&D;, and Manufacturing to support cost approvals, labour variance monitoring,



and post‑launch cost appraisals.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational financial reporting, including PPV (Purchase Price Variance), labour variance, giveaway, yield, and production volume, inventory reporting, and manufacturing overhead expense analysis.
- Partner with the Operational Controller to support cost‑saving initiatives.
- Reconcile P&L; transactions by comparing and correcting data (COS and manufacturing variances).
- Analyze expenses and prepare journal entries related to utilities, hourly labour, and inventory reconciliations.
- Support the annual budgeting process.

THE REQUIREMENTS

- CPA designation required
- 2-3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the food or meat processing industry preferred.
- Experience with ERP and cost accounting systems.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work additional hours during month‑end as required.
