We’re looking for a Cost Accountant to help turn the numbers behind our Sudbury operations into meaningful financial insight.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Monitor and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly production costs.

- Track costs related to drilling, blasting, hauling, crushing, and processing.

- Provide detailed cost variance analysis and investigate root causes.

- Support annual budgets and forecasts for mining operations.

- Work with operational teams to improve efficiency and manage costs.

- Help ensure operational activities align with financial goals.

- Support the organization and accounting treatment of capital spending.

- Track and capitalize equipment and machinery costs in accordance with accounting policies.

- Work with Maintenance to ensure equipment, machinery, and other assets are appropriately accounted for and costed.

- Allocate labour, materials, overhead, and other costs accurately across mining activities and cost centres.

- Support compliance with company accounting policies and applicable requirements.

- Participate in audits and internal control improvements.





- Work with ERP and cost accounting systems.

- Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and timeliness of cost reporting.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:
- Have post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Bring 4+ years of accounting experience in mining or another heavy industry.

- Hold a professional accounting designation — considered an asset.

- Understand cost control and cost allocation methods.

- Are proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

- Bring strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

- Have excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Enjoy solving problems and getting to the “why” behind the numbers.

- Understand the mining lifecycle and operational cost drivers.
