Role Description This full-time, Data Engineer role is based in Toronto, ON.
The Data
Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and data integration workflows to support analytics, reporting, and technology solutions for financial services clients.
Responsibilities include modeling and structuring data, optimizing databases, ensuring data quality, and collaborating closely with consultants, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions. The role involves implementing best practices for data security and governance,
troubleshooting performance issues, and continuously improving data architectures in line with evolving project and client needs.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in data engineering, including designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and database optimization.
- Proficiency with contemporary data technologies and tools (e.g., SQL, relational and NoSQL databases, data warehousing platforms, and cloud data services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience working with structured and unstructured data, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability across multiple sources.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and document solutions clearly.
- Relevant academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with financial services domain concepts and regulatory considerations is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
