The Dene High
School is seeking a dedicated teacher to facilitate language education and collaborate with Elders and community members. This temporary role requires strong communication skills and a passion for working with First Nations communities. As a Dene Language Teacher, you will influence a supportive educational environment and encourage students' connection to their heritage. Key Responsibilities:
- Promote land-based knowledge throughout the school community
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and Elders on language education
- Develop a positive cultural setting aligned with Indigenous teachings
- Establish partnerships for cultural activities with community agencies
- Facilitate land-based learning opportunities with students Requirements:
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with First Nations schools and communities
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Fluency in Cree, Dene, or Michif is an asset Inspire and lead cultural revitalization at Dene High School through engaging language education and community collaboration.
