Director, Data Architecture Transformation A Capital Markets technology organization is seeking a Director-level Architect to lead a large-scale data modernization initiative across pre-trade, trade processing, risk, data intelligence, and operations functions globally. Based in Toronto, this role will define target-state data architecture and partner with senior business and technology stakeholders across global teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead requirements gathering and define business and data architecture solutions.
- Design data models, governance, storage, transport, distribution, and enrichment frameworks.
- Drive alignment across business functions, asset classes, and stakeholder groups.
- Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps, resource plans, costs, perks, and status reporting.
- Provide architectural leadership during implementation and ensure delivery against transformation objectives.




- Proactively manage risks, issues, and mitigation plans.
- Role split: approximately 70% functional and 30% technical.

Requirements

- 10+ years of Capital Markets technology experience in data or development roles.
- 5+ years of Solution or Domain Architecture experience.
- Strong expertise in data architecture and enterprise data management.
- Deep understanding of the front-to-back trade lifecycle across multiple asset classes.
- Experience leading architecture transformation initiatives within large organizations.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred

- Knowledge of Capital Markets products.
- Cloud architecture experience.
