Cornwall FA is looking for an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I;) Director to join our Board and help shape the future of inclusive football across Cornwall.
As the guardians of football in Cornwall, our mission is to ensure football is accessible, welcoming and safe for everyone. This is an exciting prospect for someone passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion to make a meaningful contribution to football and the communities we serve.
About the roleThe ED&I; Director will lead and support an effective, constructive and cohesive Inclusion Advisory Group (IAG), working alongside Cornwall FA staff and Board members to develop and deliver a strategic vision for inclusion across football in the county.
You will
- Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across Cornwall FA.
- Lead and support the Inclusion Advisory Group.
- Help identify and understand the needs of underrepresented communities within grassroots football.
- Contribute to Board discussions, providing constructive challenge and promoting ED&I.;
- Support Cornwall FA in developing inclusive, accessible and welcoming facilities.
- Build relationships with diverse communities, advocacy groups and other stakeholders.
- Provide insight and advice to help improve customer service and grow the game.
- Attend relevant national and regional FA inclusion events where appropriate.
- Act as an ambassador for Cornwall FA.
What we're looking forWe're looking for someone with strong knowledge and experience of equality, diversity and inclusion, alongside the ability to provide strategic leadership and constructive challenge. You will ideally have experience in areas such as:
- Equality legislation and inclusive best practice
- Governance and compliance
- Developing and implementing EDI strategies
- Stakeholder and relationship management
- Engaging with underrepresented communities
- Leading cultural or organisational change
- Using insight and data to inform decision-making
- Inclusive leadership and communication
We are particularly interested in hearing from people who can bring new perspectives, challenge thinking and help us ensure football reflects and welcomes the diversity of Cornwall. Relevant qualifications or professional experience in equality and diversity, human rights, social policy, sports development or a related area would be desirable, but relevant equivalent experience will also be considered.

We support more than 1,000 teams and around 20,000 people across the county, including players, coaches, referees, volunteers, clubs and leagues.

Location & commitmentThe role is Devon and Cornwall based, with regular site visits potentially required, alongside a commitment to attend Board meetings.
Reasonable business expenses, including travel and accommodation for relevant events, are reimbursed in line with Cornwall FA's Expenses Policy.
