WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for a seasoned Alarm & Security Systems Technician with several years of real-world experience who can work independently in the field.This is not an entry-level or trainee position. We are a growing security and technology company with a small team, so we need someone who already has strong hands-on industry experience and can work independently without extensive technical training.

Strong experience in the following is highly desirable:

- DSC alarm systems — installation, programming, service and troubleshooting Kantech access control — EntraPass, controllers, programming and troubleshooting Commercial access control and door hardware CCTV and IP video surveillance systems IP networking and network troubleshooting Low-voltage and structured cabling System commissioning and customer handover Diagnosing existing systems — not simply installing new equipment Reading drawings and planning installations Running commercial projects independently

Experience with Kantech and DSC is particularly valuable.

Our current technology stack also includes Ajax, Eagle Eye Networks, Brivo and we’ll provide training on platforms that are new to you.

We Need Someone Who Can

- Assess a site and determine what equipment and installation work is required
- Read plans, identify device locations and determine appropriate installation methods
- Install alarm panels, keypads, sensors, communicators and related equipment
- Program and enroll devices and sensors into alarm systems
- Configure zones, partitions, users and system settings
- Connect and configure IP/network-based security devices
- Install and configure cameras, NVRs/DVRs and related equipment
- Install and troubleshoot access control equipment, including readers, strikes, maglocks,



REX devices and door hardware
- Test systems thoroughly before completion
- Diagnose and troubleshoot existing systems
- Perform service calls independently
- Explain system operation clearly to customers
- Complete accurate service and installation documentation

We’re looking for experience, not just years on a résumé. A technician who can walk into an existing alarm or Kantech system, understand what’s going on, troubleshoot the problem and get the system working is extremely valuable to us. We're looking for someone who wants to become an key part of a small, experienced team where their skills and judgment are valued.

Requirements

- Proven professional experience installing and servicing alarm/security systems
- Valid driver's licence and clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable using computers, mobile applications and manufacturer programming software
- Ability to work safely with ladders, tools and low-voltage equipment
- Ability to travel to customer locations as required
- Legally entitled to work in Canada

Pay: $30.00-$60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
