Title: Founding Service Operations and Member Experience Lead
About Village
Village is an AI-powered household concierge for families with young children. We manage the invisible work of running a family, the research, planning, booking, and coordination that falls on parents, so they can focus on what matters most.
An AI assistant learns each household's rhythm and anticipates upcoming needs; human assistants handle what we believe requires the magic of human touch: the phone calls, the judgment calls, the nuance, while working alongside the agents to optimize the flow of the household.
Village was founded in Toronto by a physician and mother of three who built the service she needed. The company is bootstrapped and building towards launch. This is a critical role to getting the product to market with ambitious goals to onboard paying households by January 2027.
Our Values
- Act like an owner. We prioritize commitment, initiative, and follow-through with a stake in the outcome. We take ownership of problems instead of waiting for someone else to solve them, and we're willing to move between leading the work and getting hands-on to get it done, while analysing the risk and setting frameworks as we go to not see that friction point twice in our operating rhythm.
- AI and humans alike, our toolkit. Not everyone building is going to be a machine learning expert; but you should be comfortable working with AI tools daily, and if you are an AI expert you need to be comfortable working with your human counterparts.
- We adapt and we figure it out. Priorities change, experiments don't always work, and sometimes the job that needs doing won't fit neatly into anyone's . We stay curious, learn quickly, and adjust when new information changes the plan. We don't expect you to have seen every challenge before.
We care that you ask valuable questions, use the resources around you, learn from setbacks, and keep moving toward a solution.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to build a mission-critical service for families from the ground up.
You will work directly with the founder to shape the service: developing the playbooks and quality standards the team works from as we scale to achieve our goal of 100 paying households by June 2027. This includes:
- Human capacity. Designing and deploying Village's hiring, onboarding, training, management, and evaluation frameworks for the first virtual assistants, internally and within the platform.
- Member experience. You will own the member experience end to end and contribute to the design of the product and go to market strategy, risk mitigating from the get-go, handling requests that require judgment and stepping in on member tasks directly when needed. Whether that is by evaluating beta testing data, setting up ongoing analytics dashboards and shipping product feedback this will be part of your 30-60-90 plan.
- Product feedback loop. You will also serve as the primary feedback loop into the product: what you learn from members and the team informs what we build next, including the AI itself.
- Operational infrastructure. With the CEO you will create systems and processes related to all of the strategic areas of the business to create an operating rhythm.
This could look like creating templates, evaluating the internal tech stack, evaluating expert and relevant opportunities to elevate the business, meet the targets, and evolve how we goal set.
Who we're looking for
- You understand the mental load of running a household, and want to fix it. Whether your background is in operations, HR, or project management, the industry matters less than a demonstrated ability to manage many moving parts, and a serious interest in this problem.
- You can work in close quarters with a founder group or single co-founder whose priorities will shift day to day. Prior experience in an early-stage company would be an asset.
- You prioritize compliance and integrity in all aspects of your work. You'll be expected to showcase various structures and scenarios to understand risk and efficiency, while ensuring we make the right call for the business and our clients.
We welcome applications from professionals returning from a career pause. If you've spent a stretch running a household, that's domain expertise here, not a gap.

- Full-time. Flexible hours that can work around a family.
- Toronto-based; primarily remote (in person team meetings every 2 weeks).
