AEP Ontario is one of Canada’s fastest growing, publicly traded, supplier of trusses, windows, and engineered products, with manufacturing and distribution facilities across the country is hiring a Framing Project Coordinator to join our amazing team. This position would support our residential and commercial framing projects from initial takeoff through delivery and installation.
This position is ideal for someone who understands wood framing, can read construction drawings, and is comfortable coordinating materials, suppliers, production teams, site crews and customers.
The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of projects. This role requires someone who understands that successful framing projects depend heavily on planning, accurate material quantities, communication, and ensuring the right materials are delivered to the right site at the right time.
Construction and framing knowledge is more important to us than simply having traditional project coordination experience.

- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Complete and review lumber and framing material takeoffs from architectural and structural drawings.
- Prepare material lists for lumber, sheathing, hardware, beams, blocking, connectors, and other framing-related materials.
- Coordinate lumber and building material deliveries to ensure materials arrive on site when required.
- Work with suppliers to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate project schedules with framing crews, project managers, manufacturing facilities, and customers.
- Review drawings and identify potential framing, material, or scheduling issues before construction begins.
- Track material orders and follow up on shortages, backorders, damaged materials, or missing items.
- Coordinate additional material requirements and site requests throughout the framing process.
- Maintain organized project files, drawings, takeoffs, purchase information, delivery schedules, and project correspondence.
- Communicate regularly with site supervisors and framing crews regarding project requirements and upcoming deliveries.
- Assist with project costing, change orders, extras, and material reconciliation.
- Help ensure projects remain on schedule and that crews have the information and materials required to maintain a productive jobsite.
- Coordinate with designers, engineers, estimators, production staff, suppliers, and site personnel as required.
- Assist with resolving day-to-day project issues quickly and efficiently.

Qualifications and Experiences
- Experience in wood framing, construction coordination, estimating, lumber sales, or building materials is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of residential and/or commercial wood-frame construction.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Experience completing lumber or framing takeoffs is an asset.
- Strong organizational and scheduling skills.
- Comfortable managing multiple active projects at the same time.
- Strong communication skills with suppliers, customers, trades, and site personnel.
- Ability to identify problems and make practical decisions in a quick-paced construction environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and construction-related software.
- Experience with Bluebeam, estimating software, EWP software, Mitek or material takeoff programs would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Ontario construction and safety regulations
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
