As an accounting student with our General Accounting – Refining & Supply team, you will be a key team member who assists in our monthly and quarterly processes relating to General Accounting – Refining & Supply. You will also aid in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

The General Accounting – Refining & Supply team is responsible for the accounting aspects of Irving Oil’s refinery, pipelines, and truck and trailer operations, as well as the corporate back office. The General Accounting – Refining & Supply team sits within our Home Office with our Finance Group.

Responsibilities:

- Monthly journal entries relating to General Accounting – Refining & Supply
- Monthly reconciliations relating to General Accounting – Refining & Supply
- Participate in the preparation of annual tax support schedules
- Participate in the preparation of quarterly financial statement notes
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, as applicable
- Participate in ad hoc projects

- Effective collaborator and a team player
- Willingness to participate in projects and other team initiatives as required
- Solid knowledge of MS applications: Word and Excel especially

Your Experience:





- Currently enrolled in a Business Administration program completing 2nd or 3rd year of study with a strong interest in accounting or finance
- Must have completed at least 1 year of post-secondary education and be returning to school
