About The Role
We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our HR team at our Waterloo Corporate office. This is a full time role that offers a hybrid working environment, providing flexibility to work remotely and from our office within Ontario. The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Human Resources Manager and will serve as a strategic partner to leaders at various levels within an assigned client group.
The HR Business Partner will be the primary point of contact for all people-related matters, including employee relations, recruitment, performance management, and organizational development. This role is vital in aligning HR strategies with business objectives to foster a productive, engaged, and compliant workforce. The ideal candidate will possess strong HR generalist experience, sound judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills, along with a thorough understanding of employment legislation and collective bargaining processes.
Qualifications
- University or college degree/diploma in Human Resources Management or a related field is required.
- CHRP/CHRL designation is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience across multiple HR disciplines, including employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
- Experience working in large, multi-site unionized environments is an asset.
- Experience in the healthcare or homecare sector is advantageous.
- High level of personal integrity and a commitment to ethical practices.
- Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach and sense of urgency.
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, relationship-building, and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate strong project management capabilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact tactfully and professionally at all organizational levels.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and embrace new ideas and technologies.
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email communication.
- Successful completion of a clear background check.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive HR support and coaching to designated client groups, focusing on areas such as employee and labor relations, recruitment, performance management, recognition, engagement, remuneration, learning, development, and succession planning.
- Act as a strategic advisor to leaders, ensuring organizational structures, processes, and competencies are aligned to meet both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Support employees by managing and communicating employee relations issues fairly, effectively, and in compliance with applicable legislation and collective agreements.
- Assist in the interpretation, administration, and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, and lead grievance resolution, mediation, and investigation processes within assigned groups.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities, providing insights to business leaders for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of HR on various people-related projects to enhance organizational effectiveness.
