Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Information Management Specialist to provide expertise in information management best practices, approaches, and trends related to structured and unstructured information. The successful candidate will support enterprise information management initiatives, governance practices, and modernization efforts while collaborating with business and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide expert knowledge of information management best practices, approaches, and trends related to structured and unstructured information.
- Apply thorough knowledge of the information lifecycle to provide practical analysis, expertise, and advice.
- Assess and conduct business analyses to establish information management needs across various domains, including recordkeeping, access, and privacy.
- Develop business cases related to information management initiatives.
- Lead and/or coordinate information management-related initiatives.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support for information management programs and projects.
- Develop document management protocols, guidelines, and best practices, including business rules, naming conventions, version control, and document labelling.
- Develop business and records classification schemes using functional classification methodologies.
- Assess metadata requirements and develop metadata schemas, standards, and management protocols.
- Assess training and awareness needs, develop curricula and communication plans, and deliver information management training.
- Provide ongoing advice and guidance related to information management principles and practices.
- Identify information security and privacy classification requirements and support their implementation in unstructured data environments.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, project managers, database administrators, information architects, training specialists, web specialists, and other stakeholders.
- Support stakeholder relationship management activities.
- Support business and information architecture initiatives by defining information management requirements and priorities.
- Participate in information management committees, working groups, and governance forums.




- Develop and track information management performance measures.
- Conduct research and analysis related to environmental scans, legislation, policy reviews, business process mapping, maturity assessments, and information architecture.
- Support planning and implementation of strategic information management goals and priorities.
- Lead or support the development of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs).

Required Qualifications

Information Management Expertise

- Knowledge of information management, information governance, records management, records retention, disposition, and information lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of information architecture, metadata management, taxonomy development, classification structures, and content management practices.
- Knowledge of information management best practices, standards, methodologies, and emerging trends.
- Experience supporting information management modernization, digitization, and records conversion initiatives.
- Experience conducting information inventories, records assessments, information classification, and data quality improvement activities.
- Knowledge of privacy legislation, accessibility requirements, information governance standards, and related compliance frameworks.

Technical and Analytical Skills

- Experience analyzing business requirements and translating them into information management solutions.
- Experience developing information management frameworks, metadata models, classification schemes, retention schedules, and governance processes.
- Experience supporting digitization, migration, and modernization of legacy records, documents, and repositories.
- Ability to assess information management risks, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Experience working with document management, records management, case management, enterprise content management, or similar solutions.

Communication and Stakeholder Management Skills

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience facilitating workshops,



interviews, and stakeholder discussions.
- Ability to prepare strategies, reports, recommendations, guidance materials, and business documentation.
- Ability to communicate information management concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Robust collaboration skills with project teams, stakeholders, records management professionals, business analysts, and technical resources.

Public Sector Experience

- Experience working within public sector information management and governance environments.
- Knowledge of government policies, privacy requirements, accessibility requirements, records management standards, and information governance practices.
- Experience supporting information management, digitization, modernization, records management, or digital transformation initiatives within government or broader public sector organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience developing business and records classification schemes using functional classification methodologies.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Records Management, and Document Management solutions.

Work Arrangement

- 5 days onsite.
- Strong team player with a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
