Senior Structures Design Integrator
12-Month Contract | Aerospace Industry | Montreal ,QC
Global Partner Solutions Inc. (GPSI) is supporting a leading aerospace program and is seeking an experienced Senior Structures Design Integrator to join a high-performing engineering team on a 12-month contract.
This position is ideal for a senior aerospace professional with extensive experience in aircraft structural design, technical integration, and cross-functional engineering leadership. You will play a key role in aircraft development and sustaining engineering activities, supporting programs from concept development through certification, production support, and in-service modifications.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Design & Development
- Develop and review structural concepts, 3D models, assemblies, installation drawings, and detailed part drawings for aircraft structures.
- Define metallic and composite components, interfaces, fastener concepts, tolerances, and design requirements.
- Apply best practices related to manufacturability, maintainability, structural efficiency, weight, quality, and cost.
Technical Integration & Collaboration
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including Stress, Systems, Materials & Processes, Manufacturing, Quality, and Certification.
- Resolve design interface issues and support technical trade studies.
- Participate in design reviews and clearly communicate technical solutions, assumptions, constraints, and recommendations.
Engineering Support & Compliance
- Support certification and substantiation activities by providing complete, traceable engineering definitions and documentation.
- Investigate production, supplier, and in-service issues and develop corrective design solutions.
- Manage engineering changes and maintain product definition data within the PLM environment.
Technical Leadership
- Lead complex structural design activities across multiple aircraft zones and systems.
- Review and guide significant technical solutions and investigations.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design standards, and engineering best practices.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- 10 to 15 years of aerospace engineering experience with a strong focus on aircraft structural design.
- Proven experience supporting aircraft development, modification, certification, or sustaining engineering programs.
Technical Expertise
- Aircraft structural configuration and detailed design
- Metallic and composite structures
- Fasteners, joints, tolerancing, and GD&T;
- Engineering drawings and 3D product definition
- Aerospace materials and manufacturing processes
- Certification fundamentals and configuration management
Software & Tools
- CATIA V5
- ENOVIA
- Microsoft Office Suite
