About Us

Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an Intermediate Data Quality Analyst for a 6-month contract opportunity. This role will support a comprehensive data quality improvement initiative focused on modernizing development application tracking and ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of complex datasets.

The successful candidate will have robust data validation, cleansing, analysis, and documentation skills, with advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and exceptional attention to detail.

Position Summary The Intermediate Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for reviewing, validating, cleansing, updating, correcting, and maintaining information within a large, complex Excel-based repository.

The role will involve extensive document review, data validation, cross-referencing, reconciliation, and quality control. The successful candidate will review development application records and source documentation, identify discrepancies and missing information, track changes across multiple submissions, and ensure data meets established business requirements and quality standards.

This position is primarily remote, with attendance at the office required for training, meetings, onboarding, and offboarding as needed.

Key Responsibilities

- Review and validate development application files and supporting documentation from 2021 onward.
- Verify and update application descriptions, status information, dates, and milestone events.
- Review application forms, planning reports, site plans, approval notices, clearance letters, registration documents, and related records.
- Extract and validate residential unit counts by housing type and gross floor area (GFA) by land-use classification.




- Compare successive application submissions and document changes to units, GFA, and development scope.
- Identify and resolve data discrepancies, duplicates, missing information, and inconsistencies.
- Cross-reference related development applications and associated records to verify data accuracy.
- Perform data reconciliation and quality control activities in accordance with established procedures and standards.
- Enter validated information into tracking spreadsheets and database systems.
- Maintain progress tracking records and workload reporting tools.
- Support the cleanup and migration of historical development application information.
- Document findings, corrections, assumptions, and data quality issues.
- Flag records requiring clarification, escalation, or further investigation.
- Ensure data governance standards and naming conventions are consistently followed.

Required Qualifications

- 3–5 years of experience in data quality, data analysis, data validation, data cleansing, or data governance roles.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including filtering, sorting, data validation, reconciliation, and analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and correcting large, complex datasets.
- Experience identifying, investigating, and resolving data discrepancies, duplicates, missing information, and data integrity issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and validate large volumes of information.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience documenting findings, corrections, assumptions, and data quality issues.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet established timelines.




- Ability to interpret plans, charts, forms, reports, and technical documentation.
- Strong organizational and records management skills.
- Ability to manage large volumes of repetitive work while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working with GIS or GIS-related datasets.
- Experience with planning databases or development application tracking systems.
- Experience with records management or document management systems.
- Experience working with municipal or public-sector data.
- Familiarity with data governance standards, data reconciliation, and historical data cleanup or migration initiatives.

Compensation

Salary Range: $60.00 - $70.00 / hour
