Job Title: IT Technical Business Analyst

Location: Edmonton, AB – Onsite

Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior IT Technical Business Analyst with strong expertise in business analysis, organizational change management, process improvement, and technology project delivery. The successful candidate will work across business and technical teams to define requirements, improve processes, support technology initiatives, and drive successful adoption of organizational changes.

This role combines approximately 60% Business Analysis and 40% Change Management, with flexibility based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle, from discovery and planning through implementation and stabilization.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, discovery sessions, and business needs assessments.
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
- Develop business cases, process maps, user stories, use cases, and other project documentation.
- Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements to efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
- Support application development, enhancement, testing, implementation, and ongoing maintenance.
- Facilitate UAT, business readiness assessments, and implementation activities.
- Support project managers with risk, issue, dependency, and mitigation planning.
- Develop and execute organizational change management strategies and plans.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, readiness assessments, and adoption planning.
- Develop communications, engagement, resistance management, coaching, and training plans.
- Monitor adoption, utilization, and proficiency and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.




- Provide recommendations and implementation options to senior leadership and decision-makers.
- Support operational planning, business planning, process improvement, and technology initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops, presentations, and stakeholder discussions to promote organizational alignment.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Public Administration, Organizational Development, Change Management, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- 4+ years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis, change management, project delivery, process improvement, or related areas.
- Certified Business Analyst (IIBA) or equivalent certification.
- Certified Change Management Professional certification such as ACMP, Prosci, CMI, or APMG.
- 15+ years developing integrated plans and supporting strategic initiatives.
- 15+ years assisting clients with technology and process strategies.
- 15+ years working in project management roles.
- 15+ years developing project documentation for diverse initiatives.
- 15+ years collaborating directly with internal and external stakeholders.
- 15+ years working with Agile, Waterfall, or other software development methodologies.
- 15+ years working with cross-functional teams to define detailed requirements and solutions.
- 15+ years providing senior-level leadership in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- 15+ years of project governance experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, communication,



and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

- Active PMP certification or equivalent.
- Active Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification.
- 15+ years of experience working as a Change Manager on large, complex software initiatives.
- 15+ years analyzing, developing, and integrating complex IT systems.
- 15+ years working with complex business questions and framing appropriate solutions.
- Experience with data integration between clinical or enterprise applications.
- Experience supporting technology-enabled organizational transformation.
- Strong experience with business process re-engineering and continuous improvement.
