Who we are:

Independent Energy System Operator (IESO) Nova Scotia is a new organization created by the Nova Scotia Government that began operations in 2025. IESO Nova Scotia will reform the way Nova Scotia’s energy system is managed by assuming responsibility for managing the power system in real-time, achieving clean energy goals and planning for the province's future energy needs.

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager of Infrastructure and Applications and will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer service for the organization's information technology environment. This role supports end-user devices, software applications, collaboration platforms, conferencing technologies, mobile devices, and related IT services. The IT Support Specialist will play an important role in supporting employees who deliver critical electricity system and market services, ensuring technology issues are resolved quickly and professionally to minimize operational impact.

Responsibilities

- In conjunction with a managed IT Service Provider, provide first-and second-level technical support for hardware, software, network connectivity, mobile devices, and business applications.
- Respond to incidents and service requests through the IT service management system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, printer, peripheral, and mobile device issues.
- Support Microsoft 365 applications,



collaboration tools, and productivity software.
- Provide technical support for meeting rooms, video conferencing systems, and workplace technology.
- Assist with setup and support for boardroom and stakeholder meetings.
- Provide higher level “white glove” type support for executives and Board Members
- Escalate complex issues to appropriate technical teams and vendors when required.
- Ensure all incidents and requests are accurately documented and tracked.

Qualifications & Experience:

- A Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or Business Technology
- 2-5 years providing IT technical support in a corporate environment
- Experience supporting Windows-based desktop and laptop environments.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and collaboration tools.
- Experience using IT service management and ticketing systems.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Core Competencies:

- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems, M365 suite, AD and Entra ID, endpoint management tools, basic networking, Service Desk/ITSM platforms
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure computing practices
- Familiar with enterprise technology environments
