About the Role ISL’s Calgary Water/Wastewater Service Line, as part of our Municipal Sector, provides expert assessment, design, construction and commissioning services for water and wastewater systems in communities. We are a multi-disciplinary team of over 20 ISLers, providing services in and around Western Canada.

We are looking for a person to join our close knit team who can apply their knowledge and experience in detailed design and project management to deliver a variety of services for our public and private sector clients with a focus on efficient, sustainable, long term designs.

Responsibilities:

This position will be responsible for multiple aspects of project delivery including:

- Assisting the Manager, Municipal Engineering in implementing strategic business development plans, contributing insights and helping to monitor the client pipeline
- Maintaining client relationships,



providing input on evolving client needs and contributing to the retention efforts
- Leading the coordination and preparation of proposals, providing key input on project resourcing and skill requirements
- Ensuring that project resourcing is aligned with strategic goals, facilitating effective cross-office collaboration and resource allocation
- Overseeing project documentation standards within the team, ensuring consistency and accuracy while respecting regional differences
- Leading cost estimation efforts, and take responsibility for managing scope changes in projects
- Leading projects, ensuring quality delivery within budget and timeline constraints, and provide support on larger projects as needed
- Completing peer reviews to ensure quality deliverables
- Providing day-to-day leadership and support to staff, ensuring they are motivated and aligned with organizational goals
- Leading report and technical memo writing, providing senior reviews
- Completing contract administration during the construction phase of projects
- Actively mentoring staff by providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth
- Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the team
- Fostering a positive work workplace that emphasizes work-life balance, team cohesion, and ongoing improvement

- Your past experience leading Municipal process projects from planning through design and construction. What excites you about leading process design projects and how does your past experience support this role?

Your resume should show us:

- Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and a P.Eng.



designation or eligibility for registration as a P.Eng. with APEGA
- 10+ years of related experience in planning, designing, and administering Water/Wastewater design and construction projects
- Related experience in water and wastewater process design including piping, pumps, and associated equipment
- Project management experience including budget and schedule tracking, client liaison, internal discipline coordination, team coordination, overall project administration

Bonus points for:

- Previous experience leading team members
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects
