Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Manager, Commodity Tax on a permanent full time basis within our Finance team. This is a hybrid opportunity based in Saskatoon, SK.

What you’ll do:

- Lead the Commodity Tax team, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support while overseeing workload, development, and performance.
- Oversee commodity and indirect tax compliance, including monthly filings, reporting requirements, and the appropriate collection and remittance of taxes.
- Monitor and assess Federal and Provincial legislative and regulatory changes, identifying their impact on FCL, its subsidiaries, and the Co-operative Retailing System and ensuring changes are effectively implemented.
- Serve as a commodity tax subject matter expert, providing advice on contracts, business transactions, operational changes, and tax treatment while identifying and managing potential tax risks.
- Partner with Technology and other business teams on system enhancements and implementations to ensure applicable tax requirements are accurately incorporated into processes and systems.
- Lead and coordinate external commodity tax and ecology fee audits,



working with government and regulatory authorities to resolve issues and achieve fair and appropriate outcomes.

Who you’ll work with: The Team: Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting, you’ll lead a team that includes a Commodity Tax Analyst and Commodity Tax Supervisor, with indirect oversight of two Commodity Tax Accountants. You’ll collaborate with leaders and teams across FCL, its subsidiaries, and the Co-operative Retailing System, as well as external partners, government agencies, and industry groups.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career in Finance and:

- Have 8+ years of relevant progressively responsible experience in accounting and/or tax with preference for 1-3 years commodity tax experience and 3-5 years of supervisory or management experience.
- Have a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a major in Finance or Accounting.
- Hold a professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).
- GST In-Depth Tax Course is considered an asset.
