Role Description The Medical Laboratory Technologist is a full time, on-site role based in Regina, SK. This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, transfusion medicine, and other disciplines as required. Day-to-day tasks include preparing specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory analyzers, validating and recording test results, and ensuring accuracy and reliability of data for clinical decision-making.





The technologist collaborates closely with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals, follows established protocols and safety procedures, and participates in quality assurance and continuous improvement activities. The role also involves troubleshooting equipment and testing issues, maintaining proper documentation, and supporting a patient-centered approach to diagnostic services.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program and eligibility for or current registration with the relevant provincial regulatory body (e.g., CMLPSK).

- successful passing of CSMLS or CAMLPR exams
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control, laboratory safety standards, and relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills for working within interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a quick-paced environment and maintain accuracy under time constraints.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting is an asset; familiarity with laboratory information systems and electronic health records is beneficial.
