We are looking for a strategic, people-focused, and results-driven People & Culture Business Partner to support leaders and employees across the organization while driving a positive, high-performance workplace culture. In this dynamic role, you will partner with operational leaders to provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, talent development, workforce planning, engagement, and organizational effectiveness. As a trusted advisor, you will help foster an environment where both employees and the individuals we support can thrive.
The People & Culture Business Partner is a full-time permanent position reporting to the People & Culture Manager. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work from home while staying available for on-site needs. Core working hours are Monday to Friday.

What will you do?
- Partner with Leaders for Success: Provide coaching and guidance to managers on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and leadership development.
- Drive Employee Engagement: Foster a positive workplace culture through employee experience initiatives, recognition programs, and proactive engagement strategies.
- Lead Performance and Development Initiatives: Support goal setting, performance reviews, succession planning, and employee development programs that drive organizational success.
- Navigate Employee Relations Matters: Provide professional guidance on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, accommodation requests, and policy interpretation.
- Champion HR Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with employment legislation, organizational policies, collective agreements, and People & Culture procedures.
- Leverage Data to Drive Decisions: Monitor workforce metrics, identify trends, and provide recommendations that support business objectives and employee success.
- Support Organizational Change:
Partner with leaders through periods of growth, transformation, and change while helping teams adapt and succeed.
- Advance People & Culture Initiatives: Contribute to strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen Entrust's culture, processes, and people practices.
What are we looking for?
- Education Requirements: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
- Labour Relations & Union Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience in a unionized environment, including labour relations, collective agreement interpretation, union discussions, and grievance management.
- Strategic HR Business Partnership: Proven ability to build trusted relationships with leaders, influence decision-making, and provide coaching on performance, workforce planning, and leadership development.
- Employee Relations Expertise: Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, conducting workplace investigations, and providing performance management support.
- Employment Law Knowledge: Strong understanding of Alberta employment legislation, human rights, privacy requirements, and HR best practices.
- Communication Excellence: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to navigate complex conversations professionally and effectively.
- Analytical and Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze data, and make informed recommendations in a fast-paced environment.
- Driving Credentials: A valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license.
- Employment Conditions: Job offers are contingent on providing proof of your legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- Required Documents: As part of the hiring process, you will need to submit the following documents, obtained within the last 3 months:
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector.
- Child & Youth Intervention Record Check.
- Intermediate First Aid / CPR Level C Certification.
- These documents must meet Entrusts standards and are the candidate’s financial responsibility to obtain prior to hiring.

Reports to: The People and Culture Manager Location and Hours of Work:
- Core hours are Monday to Friday, additional hours and on-call responsibilities may be required to support your team and clients effectively.
- This position has a combination of working from home, office, and on-site at residences in Edmonton.
Salary: $70,000 - $87,500 Start Date: As soon as a suitable candidate is identified. This position will be posted both internally and externally.
