High Prairie School Division is inviting applicants for: Physical Education Teacher High Prairie Elementary 2026 - 2027 School Year High Prairie Elementary School is located in the town of High Prairie in northern Alberta within Big Lakes County. It is located at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 749, approximately 371 kilometres northwest of Edmonton and 118 kilometres west of Slave Lake. The elementary school offers programming for students from ECS through to grade 6 with a total student population of over 350.

The school supports a broad range of opportunities for students including leadership and French language programs as well as art courses and it is operated by staff with a passion for teaching.

The High Prairie School

Division provides many supports for their employees. We employ a full time mentor coach who supports all recent teachers to the Division with an Orientation program and on-site mentoring.

Requirements - Completed Bachelor of Education Degree with a major or minor in Physical Education

- Must have (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate, or proof of application from Alberta Education Teacher Certification
- TQS placement or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers' Association
- Successful candidates must provide an original, acceptable, recent Criminal Record Check (less than six months old) This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
