Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Physio Therapy Assistant role based in Scarborough, ON.
The Physio Therapy
Assistant will support physiotherapists in delivering high-quality patient care, including preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, and assisting with prescribed therapeutic exercises and modalities. Daily tasks include guiding patients through rehabilitation activities, monitoring their response to treatment, documenting observations, and ensuring a protected, clean clinical environment. The role involves collaborating with clinical staff to implement individualized treatment plans,
educating patients on home exercise programs, and helping to optimize functional outcomes.
The Physio Therapy
Assistant will also assist with appointment flow and basic administrative tasks related to patient care as needed.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation to effectively support treatment plans and exercise programs.
- Strong Patient Care and Quality Patient Care abilities, with a focus on safety, empathy, and clear communication.
- Foundational knowledge of Orthopedics to assist with musculoskeletal assessments and treatment approaches.
- Completion of a recognized Physiotherapy Assistant or related health sciences program (or equivalent experience).
- Ability to follow clinical protocols, take direction from supervising physiotherapists, and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Good physical stamina, manual dexterity, and the ability to assist patients with mobility and therapeutic activities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including accurate charting and patient instructions.
- Previous experience in a rehabilitation or pain management setting is an asset; CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
