All Physical

Therapist I positions regularly rotate allowing team members to develop clinical skills and knowledge in all service areas, both inpatient and outpatient. Team members can choose to pursue individual areas of interest through participation in committees, working groups, and other initiatives. A smaller facility size promotes strong interdisciplinary relationships and an atmosphere of collaboration.

The Physical

Therapy team at the Misericordia supports continued professional development for team members at all levels of experience. The team is also supported by the Physical Therapy Skilled Practice Lead for Covenant Health. The team welcomes new or recent graduates, offering a mentorship program in the first year of employment that pairs new hires with an experienced team member and provides supplemental educational opportunities.

Description

The Physical Therapist I (PT) is responsible for providing direct client focused therapeutic care, in collaboration and consultation with other members of the interdisciplinary team. The PT assesses physical status of clients, participates in the development and implementation of an integrated plan of care. The PT is responsible for the provision of services in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health.

This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications Graduate of a Physical Therapy program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta is required.

Basic Life Support Healthcare

Provider (Level C) required.
