Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join a banking technology team in Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-level Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support business and operational decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Power BI, DAX, SQL, data modeling, ETL, and Azure data services, along with an understanding of banking and financial-services data.

Required Skills

- 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Power BI development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling.
- Solid SQL Server / T-SQL development skills.
- Experience building enterprise-level dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Strong understanding of star schema, dimensional modeling, fact and dimension tables.
- Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing.




- Experience with Power BI performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with Row-Level Security, workspace management, and deployment pipelines.
- Experience working with large datasets and complex reporting environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Banking Domain Experience

- Experience working in banking, financial services, capital markets, payments, or insurance environments.
- Understanding of financial data, banking KPIs, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive financial/customer data.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Exposure to areas such as risk, finance, lending, credit, AML/KYC, payments, or customer analytics is an asset.
