Job Title: Project Controls Lead

Location: Cambridge, ON | On-site

Job Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $80,000 - $105,000

The Position:

The Project Controls Lead will provide Project Controls oversight for all projects defined by our Project Operating Policy. The incumbent will provide operational leadership for the planning phase of all projects; ensuring proper handoff from Business Development to the Operations Project Team and ensure a highly effective internal kickoff and planning phase. The incumbent will lead the team to provide guidance, policy, process and escalation.

The Project Controls

Lead will work with the management team and plant personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture on time and on budget.

What You'll Be Doing:

- Oversee and assist Project Management in the preparation of project planning deliverables
- Throughout project execution, monitor and control project budgets and schedules to ensure Projects stay within authorized budget and meet schedule targets in accordance with procedures, and approved change
- Conduct ongoing review of project forecasts, schedules, budgets, purchase order data, change orders and contract status
- Assists project team in facilitation and resolution of all open issues and risks identified during both the projected and planning phase
- Review initial project and facilitate departmental buy-in to project budget, schedule, and scope
- Monitor all progress by the project team during the projected and planning phase, pinpoint issues with budget and schedule
- Ensure contractual communication is clearly understood and the information is completely transferred from Applications through to Project Management
- Review new projects with Applications and Project Management to allocate budget and company resources
- Monitor and assist in initial schedule and budget development for new projects and liaises with department managers and Project/Program Managers to address issues
- Approves final Budget Allocations prior to finishing the project planning phase, in accordance with the authorized budget
- Participate in and oversee development of change order proposals, ensure high risk changes receive appropriate schedule and cost estimate review by subject matter experts
- Conduct Project evaluations based on Earn Value Metrics to determine project performance trends in relation to Schedule and Budget
- Follow up and review results with Project Management and determine necessary actions




- Provides input with respect to changes/improvements to Project Management procedures and compliance programs as pertaining to the defined sector, and resolution of any corrective actions
- In consultation with Applications engineering, assists in the review of projected meeting readiness and development of related documents
- Proactively recognize issues, initiate action, assist in problem solving and evaluate results on major issues during the projected, planning phase and with any development of Engineering Change Requests

Leadership

- Act as a liaison between the Project Controls department and Executive Project Controls team
- Manage Project Controls projects and delegate tasks accordingly
- Establish regular audits of Project Controls systems and processes
- Provide regular project status and operational status updates to Department leadership on a regular basis
- Understand the business needs and prioritize efforts and strategy accordingly leveraging the broader team in projects and initiatives when appropriate
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the Project Controls team regarding policies and best practices
- Work with Project team and Department Managers to correct any budgetary issues

- Recommend and consistently administer policies, process flow and procedures to enhance operations
- Ability to motivate teams to collaborate on achieving budget and schedule targets within tight timeframes and simultaneously oversee several projects as it relates to cost control

- Ability to communicate effectively with personnel, resolve and trouble shoot potential problems with Project Managers and Department Managers

Project Execution

- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and actively participate in group meetings
- Ensure budget allocations are approved by Project Team
- Participate in Projected Meetings
- Execute budget adjustments when required and enforce baseline
- Adhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy
- Ensure scheduled milestones are met
- Notify the appropriate departments if milestones are not met
- Maintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse corporate Vision




- Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code
- Foster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the busines

What We're Looking For:

Education:

- Has successfully completed a University degree or College diploma in Engineering/ Business Administration/Accounting or equivalent experience
- Formal Project Management Training through PMI or equivalent, PMP is an asset

Experience:

- 5+ years sector specific experience in a Project leadership Capacity, with demonstrated success in large, high profile projects
