Position Overview

Reporting to the AVP, Business Unit Support, Technology, the Project Reporting and Analysis Director provides strategic financial leadership across the projects portfolio. This role is responsible for project spend governance, financial planning and analysis, executive and financial reporting, business case review, and financial decision support.

The Project Reporting and Analysis Director partners closely with project management teams, executive stakeholders, and Finance leadership to support strategic project investments, strengthen financial governance, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of reporting and planning processes through analytics and automation.

Responsibilities

- Lead financial oversight of the projects portfolio, including business case input and controls, project financial performance monitoring,



and capitalization versus expense assessments in partnership with Corporate Accounting.
- Partner with the Corporate Project Office (CPO) team and business unit management teams to provide financial insight, challenge assumptions and support investment decision making.
- Support monthly financial close activities including submission of project expense accruals, variance analysis and financial and management reporting.
- Present monthly updates on forecast and actual project expenses to the Executive Project Steering Committee (EPSC).
- Provide regular updates to the CFO on the status of projects expenses and project funding requests.
- Conduct financial reviews of business cases and recommend corrective actions to CPO, business sponsors and the VP, Planning and Analysis.
- Lead the financial planning, forecasting, and financial reporting analysis for the projects portfolio including staffing expenses, operating expenses, capital investments.
- Provide back-flow coverage on routine Board of Directors and enterprise wide corporate management reporting. Working under the direction of the VP, Planning and Analysis, and on occasion members of the executive team, develop net recent, unstructured reporting packages as required by the Board of Directors and senior management.
- Maintain and update the Business Recovery Plan (BRP) and Corporate File Plan for the Planning team, ensuring adherence to enterprise risk and compliance requirements.
- Lead initiatives to automate financial reporting,



planning and project governance processes through technology solutions and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with the AVP, Business Unit Support or VP, Planning on ad hoc requests as required.

Qualifications

- 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, and management /financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems including planning modules and core ERP functionality
- Advanced Excel, Power BI and financial modelling skills
- Proven ability to drive process improvement and automation across planning, analysis, and reporting activities. Strong presentation and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior executives and governance committees.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, and provide sound financial recommendations.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and unstructured requests.

Job Specific Competencies

- The salary band for this position ranges between $120,000 - $168,000.
- Individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, market conditions, relevant experience, education, training, and internal equity.
