About The Role The Data Quality Analyst at CAE plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of data products delivered via the Microsoft Fabric platform. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can validate data across the Medallion architecture—comprising Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers—by applying CAE’s Data Platform Coding Framework. The role involves end-to-end testing of data acquisition flows, verifying data quality, and ensuring compliance with governance standards through Microsoft Purview, including metadata, lineage, and security controls.

Acting as a vital link between business and technical teams, the Data Quality Analyst manages defect resolution, tests performance and data integrity, and promotes continuous improvement initiatives. The ultimate goal is to ensure that analytics outputs are trustworthy, auditable, and support data-driven decision-making processes effectively.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in data QA, data validation, or analytics testing
- Proficiency in Python and SQL




- Experience with software development lifecycle management tools such as Git and version control systems
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, particularly Medallion architecture
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure platforms
- Practical knowledge of Power BI from a validation and testing perspective
- Familiarity with data governance principles and practices

Responsibilities

- Validate that data products align with business goals based on the Goal-Question-Metrics (GQM) framework and are fully traceable from source systems to Power BI visualizations
- Ensure data quality across bronze, silver, and gold layers, confirming completeness, reliability, and readiness for production use
- Test Power BI reports end-to-end to verify accuracy of visuals and metrics
- Implement governance standards using Microsoft Purview, including managing metadata, lineage, and data quality scoring
- Develop comprehensive test plans, validate performance, and ensure reliable data refresh cycles
- Identify, document, and manage defects, collaborating with technical teams to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
- Provide ongoing insights to improve data quality, reliability, and stakeholder trust in analytics outputs
- Maintain documentation of data validation processes, test results, and compliance adherence
