Our Dartmouth office has an immediate need for a “Department Supervisor │QA & Engineering”. Under the direction of the VP of Operations, you will oversee and lead the quality control operations for the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing policies that prioritize the efficiency of products or services, supervising and evaluating the performances of the workplace, and setting standards and procedures that align with the goals of the company.
For this position, you must be highly organized, flexible and have great attention to detail. You must also be a strong, independent leader and lead by example each and every day. You operate each day with a strong focus on safety and you always ensure yourself and staff is complying to company policies and procedures.
Typical daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the team responsible for final QA inspection of manufactured and repaired parts
- Overall accountability for progress and QA of special projects through planning, scheduling and monitoring
- Scheduling progress meetings with management and customers to ensure continued communication and customer support
- Planning & completion of internal & external audits Oversee company compliance to ISO9001, AS9100, CWB & Controlled Goods
- Operation of inspection equipment (e.g. CMM, profilometer, micrometers, etc.)
Engineering/design review on special projects/applications
- Monitoring QA documentation ensuring compliance to applicable customer standards, industry codes/practices and company quality systems
- Provide technical support to operations
- Continually interact with customers to interpret their needs and requirements
- Develop standard operating procedures to standardize and control internal and external processes
Potential Applicants should have the following skills and experience:
- More than 5 years equivalent QA management experience
- Engineering degree (chemical or mechanical)
- Experience in investigation and root cause analysis
- Experience in HR fundamentals
- Solid computer skills and experience using Excel, Word, etc.
- Proficient in mechanical design principles
- Experience in inspection and testing
- Good decision making and problem-solving capabilities
- Fixed residence in Nova Scotia
