Victoria

Company Description Beacon Construction Consultants Inc. is a Victoria-based firm of Professional Quantity Surveyors and Construction Cost Consultants, established in 1998 through the amalgamation of two long-standing local practices. Led by principal Aidan Kelly, a member of the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, the company has deep roots in the Greater Victoria area and Western Canada. Beacon serves institutional and private clients, developers, and financial institutions across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands, and occasionally the Mainland.

The firm provides a wide range of services including cost consulting, mortgage monitoring, estimating, dispute resolution, project management, and other financial services for both private and government construction projects. Team members work on diverse projects, gaining exposure to various sectors and project scales.

Role Description This full-time, on-site Quantity Surveyor role is based in the Greater Victoria Metropolitan Area.

The Quantity

Surveyor will prepare and review cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for projects at various stages.

Responsibilities include monitoring project costs, preparing cost plans and financial reports, data analysis, and supporting cost control measures throughout the construction lifecycle. The role involves liaising with clients, contractors, and design teams to obtain and verify information, evaluate change orders, and contribute to dispute resolution and project risk assessments.

The Quantity
