Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and dependable Renovation Specialist to join our renovation team. This position primarily focuses on interior renovation and finishing, with a strong emphasis on professional drywall taping, mudding, and finishing. The successful candidate must be able to complete drywall finishing work to a professional, paint-ready standard, identify deficiencies, and take pride in producing a quality finished product.
The position will also assist with a variety of renovation tasks, including demolition, drywall installation, repairs, hardware, doors, and general suite preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the ability to properly tape joints, apply compound, feather, sand, and finish surfaces.
- Complete professional drywall taping, mudding, and finishing to a paint-ready standard.
- Identify and correct imperfections, deficiencies, and poor finishes before the painting stage.
- Complete drywall repairs, patches, corner bead, and finishing as required.
- Assist with drywall installation, framing, demolition, and general renovation work.
- Assist with installation of doors, hardware, and other interior finishes.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the renovation process.
- Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Work professionally and respectfully within occupied residential properties when required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Perform other renovation-related duties as assigned by the Property Manager.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must have at least 2 years' experience as a skilled drywall installer, taper and mudder and preference will be given to someone with framing experience.
- Preference will go to candidates with experience in: minor electrical, basic plumbing, finishing carpentry, tile work and painting.
- Must have exceptional attention to detail.
- High degree of professionalism and dedication as well as a passion to deliver sensational customer service to all stakeholders.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Proficient computer skills for utilization of payroll software.
- Highly organized, results oriented and ability to work in a multi-functional team environment.
- Appearance must be neat, clean and professional.
- Must be personable and have a positive, energetic attitude.
- Must be flexible and willing to do a variety of renovation tasks.
- Must be physically strong and capable of carrying, lifting and moving construction items such as drywall, doors, etc.
- Must have own tools and safety footwear.
- Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s license,
- Security clearance required upon offer of employment.
